Getting Started

Welcome to SMS Gupshup's Enterprise Product! You can use SMS Gupshup for all your business needs. Product Overview

Login

Enter the User ID and Password provided to you and then click on the "Login" button. After logging in, you can carry out actions like create group, bulk upload, set masks, set keywords, recharge your account and more.

Forgot Password

If you have forgotten your password please email us at enterprise-support@smsgupshup.com with your userid and contact number. Our support executive will call you and after a simple verification they will generate new password for you.

New Account

You can now register for a new account directly through the website. Click on Register Now and follow the instructions. You can access your account on realisation of your payment. You will receive an email and a SMS giving details of your account and password.

Groups

After you login successfully, you will see the Groups page where you can do the following actions -

CREATE GROUP - Click on "Create your group" to create new group. You will have to provide valid mask while creating group. See Create Mask for more details.

GROUP SETTINGS - You can set greeting message, which will be sent to all the subscribers added to the group. You can add subscribers to the group either by entering the phone numbers or uploading a sheet in Excel, CSV or Txt format.

POST ON A GROUP - Click on the group you want to post message. You can post a regular English message of upto 724 characters.

DELETE GROUP - Select active groups and then click on "Delete" to delete groups.

DISABLE GROUP - Select active groups and then click on "Disable" to disable groups, you can see all the disabled groups by clicking on "Show Disabled Groups". You can enable these groups again.

You can grow your customer base by providing your target audience with an option to join your group. Click 'enable self join' under Group Settings for the selected group. You then need to create a keyword or pick an existing one to be associated with this group. You can now get your customers to Opt-in to the group by exposing the keyword eg MYSTORE to your customers via offline collateral like stickers, coupons, pamphlets, newsletters etc. Your customer can then Opt in to join this group and receive messages which you send to the group by sending a simple SMS in the format JOIN Example: If you have a keyword, MYSTORE associated with your Group, anyone can join this group by sending an SMS - "JOIN MYSTORE" to 9220092200.

Mobile Access

SMSGupShup now allows you to access your enterprise account through your mobile phone. You can now create groups from a specified set of mobile numbers. You can post on specified groups from the mobile phone. You can also add/delete numbers from groups through phone.

However if you are posting using a CDMA mobile phones (Reliance/TATA) the maximum length of message is 135 characters. If you are posting via GSM mobile phones maximum length is 300 characters.

Messages

You can upload messages and phone numbers in an Excel or Comma Separated Values (CSV) or compressed file formats. You can also schedule the messages to be sent at a later date. Check out sample files xls, csv, zip. You can detect and remove the duplicate numbers in your uploaded file.

Upload History

You can check the last 5 files uploaded by you in this section. You can cancel the scheduled messages till 15 minutes before their scheduled timestamp. If you cancel it very close the scheduled time, the messages will not get cancelled. Ensure that the messages are cancelled well in advance. The cancelled messages will be credited back to your account.

Mask

You can create masks which will be associated with your groups or messages. A mask provides an identity for you and goes as the message header in an SMS. As per TRAI regulations, all the masks have to be prefixed with 3 digit service provider code. Please choose your mask to have maximum 8 characters. See TRAI regulations for more information. All the masks you create will be verified by our team for security and privacy purpose. You will be notified of the mask approval by email. You can use the mask only after it is approved.

Keywords

You can create keywords to generate responses from your users. You can select to receive the responses on a longcode or a shortcode. You have the option to collect the responses by providing a Response URL. Keywords have a validity of maximum one year. Keywords are a great way to collect responses from your customers. You also now have the option to get customers to join your group by means of keywords.

Ads

You have the ability to set up ads to target the SMS GupShup users. You can set up ads to promote your products and services, to inform about offers and discounts and much more. We offer you the ability to target your ad by location and category. Locations are telecom circles across all Indian states and the 4 metro cities. Categories are defined by SMS GupShup classifying users based on the user generated content on the platform. There are two types of Ads, viz. Contextual and Direct. Both types of ads offer the same targetting and differ only in the placement of the ad. Contextual ad is appended to a GupShup message and goes under the GupShup mask. Direct ad goes as a separate message and goes under your mask or can go under GupShup mask. The cost of an ad campaign is a factor of messages. Depending on the ad type and the number of impressions, the relevant number of messages will be debited from your account.

Working Hours

You can set the hours of delivery during which you would like your messages to be sent out to your audience from our system. By default, this is set from 7:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs.
We will try to make sure that all the messages posted or scheduled in this time duration will be sent out as soon as possible, though delivery of the same is subject to batch size and load conditions.
We will be unable to send out Messages posted or scheduled outside working hours. To set working hours visit Settings page. To know more see the Help document.

Statistics

Statistics for messages sent on the groups and through bulk upload can be viewed in the right column of respective pages. These statistics will only be available next day.Messages posted on the groups can be checked under the respective group. It will indicate the message content and timestamp.

Real Time Delivery Reports

You can set a callback URL for each group and APIs to receive real time delivery reports. Let's say you have given www.example.com/realtimereport/readurl as the callback URL, the format of the URL called by us is as follows: http://www.example.com/realtimereport/readurl?externalId=%0&deliveredTS=%1&status=%2&cause=%3 &phoneNo=%4&grpName=%5.

Following is the explanation of various parameters

externalID - It is the unique ID for each message.

deliveredTS - It is the time of delivery of message as LONG number.

status - It is the final status of the message, possible values are SUCCESS, FAILURE or UNKNOWN.

phoneNo - It is phone number of the receiver.

grpName - It is the name of the group you have posted. In case you have used our API or XLS/CSV upload feature its value will be GatewayAPI.

We will call the URL provide by you with above mentioned parameters as we receive delivery reports from the service provider.

About Our DND Policy

SMS GupShup respects the NDNC list, and does not allow promotional messages to be sent to numbers in the NDNC list. Customers of SMS GupShup can however send urgent or transactional messages to numbers in the NDNC list, after signing an indemnity agreement.

By default all customer accounts are configured to check if phone numbers being sent messages are in TRAI's 'Do Not Disturb' (DND) list. If the phone numbers are found to be in the DND list, messages are not sent to those numbers. This is what SMS GupShup means by 'DND Check', and by default this check is 'On'.
To know the DND Check status of your account, look at the Account Status section on the right panel on the Groups page.

If you wish to change the DND Check status of your account to 'Off', please send 'CDND' to 9220092200, and a support representative will call you, and guide you through the process. You can also email customer support (enterprise-support@smsgupshup.com) to get more information about this.
However, please do note that DND Check is turned Off only for transactional messages and not for promotional messages.

Enterprise APIs

GupShup Enterprise APIs enables enterprise users to build SMS-based widgets and services. Using GupShup Enterprise API, developers can build a variety of widgets and services for Enterprise users, using GupShup messaging service for their products and services.

GupShup Enterprise API uses a REST-based interface. All requests are made as HTTP GET and POST requests. The REST response is either a XML or a JSON block.

Excel Plugin

You can now directly send SMS from Microsoft Excel by using SMSGupShup Excel Plugin. It currently supports Microsoft Excel 2003 and Microsoft Excel 2007.
